Animal ID: A0951186Angel (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Adult

I found a discrete rose to put around her neck to not distract the eyes from her exquisite features. Angel looks like a giant Chi ... (Read More)although she is 'petite' at 40lbs. She wears a cream color coat that together with her light frame make her look very delicate. Angel was relinquished into our care as her family is going through hard times. She seems very much like a family dog who lived with young children in harmony it seems. She suffers from dermatitis that does not appear to have been addressed by her owners and is quite uncomfortable with it. Angel pulls a little on the leash but she is so light that it does not really matter. She sits and stays on command and eliminated in the street at each of our walks. She seems fine with other dogs met . Angel is very distraught by her abandonment. She is a very friendly girl, though. She wags her tail non stop and comes on the lap and in the arms for comfort. She is very needy and affectionate. It would be very difficult not to fall in love with her. Angel is a lovely female, mature at five years of age and already spayed. She is a true family dog who is right now an orphan and yearning to belong again. She will need some medical care to attend to her dermatitis and proper nutrition. Love is in the air... Angel has plenty of it to give to the new owner or family who will elect to share their life with her. She was sociable toward the handler during the assessment, with a soft body and low wag throughout. Angel was excited during some of the handling items, but kept a soft body language. She was distracted, focused on objects in the room rather than the handler during the tag test. Angel did not resist being handled while eating, and was easily pushed out of the food bowl. She was not interested in toys and was easy to handle when chewing on rawhides. Angel was cautious when approaching the helper dog, but showed no aggression. Look: 2. Animal ID: A0952113Copper (male)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Puppy

Manhattan Center COPPER - ID#A0952113 I am an unaltered male, gray and white Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 2 years old. I weigh 62 pounds. I was found in NY 10455. I have been at the shelter since Nov 30, 2012 For more information on adopting please read the following: https://www.facebook.com/Urgentdeathrowdogs/app_137541772984354 DO NOT call the shelter and say you are adopting unless you truly intend on physically going to the shelter to adopt the dog. It ties up phones lines and is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone for someone who is purposely not going to ... (Read More)show up. They need every free second of their time to answer calls, assist actual adopters, process intakes, and care for the animals. More importantly, they will note the dog's file that an adopter is en route which will prevent an actual adopter from saving the dog. This is considered a 'fake adoption' hold and that is how dogs fall through the cracks and end up being killed. For more information on a particular dog, email [email protected] but ONLY if serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions. (Less)
